Prediction
- Besiktas come into the fixture as group leaders and only need to avoid defeat here to qualify for the latter stages. Sporting, however, need to win or draw (they have a superior head-to-head over Moscow) and hope second place Lokomotiv Moscow lose against minnows Skenderbeu in order to progress. Besiktas will miss out all together if they lose and Lokomotiv win, however.
- Besiktas are one of six teams still unbeaten in the competition, but they only managed a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture on home soil earlier in the campaign. Injuries to key players, however, could ruin Sporting’s chances of beating Besiktas here. Besiktas aren’t set up to defend or settle for a draw, which could mean there are a flurry of goals in quick succession.
